Meet the Rule Family
The Rule family’s legacy in the sheep industry spans generations, dating back to the 1950s when Larry Rule established the family’s first feedlot in Brighton, CO. Larry’s dedication and drive set the foundation for the family’s work ethic, a trait that remains ingrained in them today.
Rob, Larry’s son, and his wife Cindi expanded the family’s sheep operation to Hawarden, IA, in the 1980s, where they managed the renowned packing operation, Iowa Lamb. Although the packing house was eventually sold in the early 2000s, the Rule family’s passion for the industry endured.
In the 1990s, Tyson, Rob and Cindi’s son, embarked on his own journey in the sheep industry, starting his show lamb flock. Alongside his family, Tyson continued to raise and sell club lambs until the early 2000s. In 2009, Tyson and his wife Amber returned to Hawarden to establish Rule Sheep Co., laying the groundwork for a new chapter in the family’s legacy.
Over the years, Rule Sheep Company has flourished, pioneering advancements in reproduction and show trends. Yet, amidst industry changes, one thing remains constant: their unwavering passion for their craft and the industry. Family remains at the heart of their operation, anchoring them to their roots and propelling them towards the future. Join us as we continue to elevate our industry, driven by our shared history and unwavering passion for excellence.
